Fairbanks and Sled Dogs

Fairbanks was founded to serve the miners who came to search for gold and is now the largest city in the interior of Alaska. My main activity was to ride the Riverboat Discovery paddle boat on the Chena River. We visited the racing sled dog training facility started by four-time Iditarod champion Susan Butcher and a reconstructed Athabascan village.
